Here's a render I did to see the final look of the model once I was happy with the intensity of the lighting.

I then decided to add more branches to make the tree bushier.

Once I was happy with the settings and a floor plane was added I did my first render.

I then used Hypershade to link up the texture maps to the tree and added a HDRI to the skydome for lighting.

I used GIMP to create the Alpha channel texture map for my model.
